Current Priority Legislation
BUMP Act
PBMs should not own pharmacies because it creates a built-in conflict of interest, allowing them to steer patients and profits to their own operations. Separating PBMs from pharmacy ownership promotes fair competition, transparency, and protects patient choice.
Patient Access to Pharmacy Act
The Patient Access to Pharmacy Act (PAPA) aims to rein in PBM practices and ensure fair reimbursement so community pharmacies can stay open. By strengthening pharmacy viability, it protects patients’ access to timely, local care and essential medications.
